CADS quarterly meetings

Workshop

CADS organises its own series of quarterly meetings - a mixture of drama workshops, visiting speakers and so on - at a variety of venues around Royston. If numbers permit, these are generally advertised to the public as well as to members of the group.

The next meeting of the 2011/2012 season, which has been organised by Kathy Wholley, is at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday 29 February in the Hall at Meridian School and takes the form of a workshop on "Technical Apects of the Theatre", led by Joe Daintrey. The technical side of theatre is vitally important to the success of a show, however “basic” the staging; indeed, you don’t need to be a budding techie to take part in this event – understanding how effects are achieved or how different lighting and sound can change the look and feel of a show are equally important to directors, and even actors. So if you’ve ever wondered how your radio mike works, or what a “gobo” does, or you simply want to learn more about what goes on back stage and/or at the back of the hall, then do please come along and find out. Admission is FREE so just turn up on the night…

Subsequent meetings will include improvisation sessions, music workshops and the occasional visiting speaker. Please contact Kathy on 01763 223805 (or e-mail kjw47@cam.ac.uk) or watch this space for further details.

We look forward to seeing you at one of them!
