Pantomime
The curtain has now come down on this year's hugely successful pantomime Robinson Crusoe and the Pirates - nearly 1,300 people turned out to see one of our most colourful and spectacular recent productions! One lovely audience member even took time to say, "I just had to write to say how much our family (aged 4 years - 72!) enjoyed the production. It was 2 hours of joy thanks to the fantastic crew, set & music. Thank you! We came last year as well & will be making this a fixed diary entry from now on." And, indeed, why wouldn't you?

On a practical note, two scarves were retrieved from the auditorium after the show - if you think you've misplaced yours, please contact [email protected] and we'll try to reunite you with it.

What next?
We're starting to put together plans for our next production, which is likely to be the CADS submission for the 2019 Royston Arts Festival in September. We've already had an offer to direct a full-length play - exact choice of show to be confirmed -  and we hope to be able to announce a date for auditions for this shortly, so watch this space (and, of course, our website). Meanwhile, there's still the Spring to get through and although we've been fairly quiet recently during the months between the panto and the Autumn, we're always in the market for suggestions. It needn't be a full-length piece as we do have one possibility for something that could make up half of a double bill of one-act plays if someone has any ideas about the other half... Please do get in touch!

Creative Royston
Creative Royston, the team behind the Arts Festival, are holding their AGM at 7.30 on Monday 4 February at the Old Bull Inn, Royston, where among other things they'll be outlining their plans for the 2019 Festival, the theme of which is "Our planet". We'll be sending along a delegate but if you'd like to attend, you'll need to e-mail [email protected] as soon as possible! Incidentally, their latest Annual Report, which should by now be available on their website at http://www.creativeroyston.org, mentions that our production of Ghost Writer in September elicited a 100% "Excellent" response from people filling in feedback forms!

Carl Filby of Creative Royston is also organising another of his notorious arts quizzes! The last one was (almost literally) a riot and many regular CADS members had a thoroughly entertaining if intellectually challenging evening! This year, the date set is Friday 1 March (venue to be announced but probably the Old Bull Inn again) and you should be able to find further details on their website (see above).

Hoodies?
A while ago we purchase some CADS branded hoodies and we've had a few requests for these from new members. However, we could do with someone recommending a supplier, so if you know of any (preferably local) firm that might be able to produce these, do please contact us. Contact us too if you'd like to be informed if and when these are available...

Committee
Our next meeting is on 12 February so if there's anything you'd like us to consider or discuss, please feel free to contact any of us at any time via the Contact page of the CADS website!
