Annual General Meeting
Our AGM is on Monday 7th April, 7.30pm at Icknield Walk First School and we hope to see as many of you there as possible. This is a challenging time for us as a group as we are in transition - we need new ideas and volunteers to lead future productions, of all kinds, and need to establish ourselves in one or more new venues around the town. We also need volunteers to take a role on the committee or as an officer of the society. Please make every effort to come along - for those that want to, after the formalities are completed we’ll likely adjourn to the Bull for a more social gathering as well.

Chapel Clearout

Following our loss of storage space at KJAR we really need members to help out with our scenery clearout which continues on Saturday April 5th, 9am-12pm at the chapel. If you can spare a few hours in the morning and can help please come along - particularly if you have a large-ish car. We are able to continue using the chapel for storage but we share it with another local group so some of our stuff has to go - and after all one can only have so many fake trees, fireplaces, wishing wells, circus tents and sea creatures!

Annual Subscriptions

On a more mundane note our annual subscriptions are now due - £15 - importantly paying this ensures you are covered by our insurance policy. The subscription also includes one free ticket to each production CADS stages across the year - and if you’re in the production as cast or crew you can gift it to a friend or family member if you’d like to. Please make payment by bank transfer to:

Sort code 40-39-22
Account number 91389149
Payee name CADS

It would help our Treasurer if you could use "Membership" as the reference, please. Alternatively you can pay in cash to any of the committee members at the forthcoming AGM.

Welwyn Drama Festival

Our next production Virtual Reality featuring Michael Young and Patrick Key is progressing well and it is now confirmed this will be performed as the third and final act on Monday May 19th - please come along and support Michael, Patrick and the production team - tickets will be available soon.

Royston Arts Festival
Creative Royston has announced the theme for Royston Arts Festival (Friday 19th to Sunday 28th September) as 'Then and Now' with the idea that it can pick up on the 400th anniversary of the death of King James I or the accession of Charles I, though the former has a much stronger connection with Royston of course.

The organisers have enquired whether we would be interested in staging perhaps a Shakespearean play from the time of King James, or perhaps a Restoration play, or perhaps even some flash-mob style performances during the day in the town - a little bit different! If you fancy directing / organising something like this please get in touch - there will likely be support from across CADS and the wider Creative Royston team including funding for props and costumes as required.

Town Hall Site Visit

Lastly those that have already expressed an interest in visiting the Town Hall in April have been contacted to confirm a date/time. If we haven't heard from you and you'd like to come along please get in touch with [email protected] asap.
