Committee Minutes

As ever, the latest CADS committee meeting minutes are available on the Backstage area of the CADS website www.cadsroyston.org.uk .

The Fosdyke Saga

After a summer hiatus, rehearsals are back under way and going well.  The show promises to be extremely entertaining.  So if you haven’t booked your tickets yet, you’ve only got a couple of weeks until the performances, which are on Thurs-Sat 25th-27th September at Meridian School.

Tickets for the shows are now on sale!  They cost £10 for adults and £5 for children/students, and are available to purchase online via www.cadsroyston.org.uk. You can also phone the box office on 07925 674967 if you’d like to pay cash (you will need to collect your ticket though).  Paid-up CADS members are entitled to one free ticket each, which can be claimed by calling the box office or emailing the secretary on [email protected].

Box office phone

It would seem there was an issue with the Box Office phone not picking up calls and voicemails for a week or so, this is now resolved.  If you tried to call and left a voicemail, please do get in touch again.

Summer Outing

On Saturday 23rd August CADS gathered on Therfield Heath for a staycation-style day out with picnics and games.  Many members came along, and we played Frisbee, kubb and pétanque.  At one point, 3 games of kubb and one of pétanque were being played, with 22 people present.  Thank you to all those who attended.

Panto 2015

The coming year’s Pantomime in January 2015 is already in the pipeline.  This year CADS will be producing the classic tale of Cinderella, and will be putting on 4 evening and 2 matinee performances on the 24th,25th,30th and 31st January 2015.  Alison Bass will direct the show, with Emily Bass producing and Louise Atkins as Musical Director.  Rupert Jordan is Technical Director.

Auditions

A date for auditions is currently being finalised, but will likely be in the first full week of October.  If you are interested in more details, then do get in touch with the secretary.  Details of the auditions will appear in the local newspapers, on the CADS Facebook group and will also be sent out by email once they are confirmed.

Technical crew

If you are interested in getting involved back-stage then we have lots of opportunities for you.  There will be a technical meeting in mid-October, which will be advertised on the Facebook group and in the October newsletter.  If you would like more information, please get in touch with the secretary.

The Orwell Players (TOPS) production

TOPS, based in Orwell, are producing Alan Bennett’s farce Habeus Corpus in November, and have just started rehearsing.  They’re still a little short of players, and are looking for local talent, primarily a young (20-35) man.  They rehearse on Thursdays and Sundays.  If you’re interested, please contact Paul Haskell on [email protected] or call him on 01223 208128.
