Updates re CADS’s entry for Royston Arts Festival 2015
We’ve had successful auditions for Peter Shaffer’s Black Comedy: the cast has been chosen, and rehearsals begin next Monday.
Our evenings of “light” entertainment will couple Shaffer's play with a collection of shorter items such as sketches, songs and the like.
- If you fancy offering an item (or an idea), please get in contact with Phil Rowe, the show’s producer.
- The show will need a small team of techies, for which Phil will hold a recruitment meeting on Monday 11th May at 7.30pm, in the dining hall at Meridian School (please enter the building by the rear-side door near the gym).

Play-reading sessions
These events are open to absolutely anyone – we read round the room, taking turns with the characters.
April's play-reading evening was a huge success: we had a large group (21 people), and a lot of fun.
Our next play-reading will be on Tuesday 23rd June from 7.30pm ("for 8pm").  It will take place at the sports centre bar on Royston heath (in the side-room, again), where we’ll be reading Willy Russell’s emotive Blood Brothers.

Panto 2016
We’re delighted to announce that the CADS pantomime for January 2016 will be Aladdin, written & directed by Ian Sims.  Auditions will be held in early October.
Please note that there’s also an opportunity for someone new to take over the reins for Costume design & creation!  For further details of this role or to register your potential interest, please email the CADS secretary.

CADS’s AGM
This year we saw a great turnout of 25 people, including new faces.  Amongst the discussions, the new Chair reaffirmed CADS’ openness to staging events of various types, sizes and venues – not simply to limit ourselves to a routine of 2 shows each year in Meridian.  If you wish to put such an event together with CADS’ support, please get in contact with the CADS committee.

Your new committee comprises:
Pat Houghton & Peter Worthy (Honorary Presidents)
Ian Cowley (Chair)
Phil Rowe (Treasurer)
Wendy Watts (Vice-chair)
Rupert Jordan (Secretary)
Emma Shaw
Donika Jordan
Ian Sims
Barbara Perry
Dave Humphrys
Jill Buggey
