Confirmation of “Light Entertainment” acts
Thank you to everyone who’s volunteered to perform in our “Light Entertainment” gallimaufry – which, alongside Peter Shaffer’s Black Comedy, will constitute CADS’s show (entitled “Black Comedy & Light Entertainment”) in this year’s Royston Arts Festival. The acts have been chosen, but Kathy Young is keen to ensure that she hasn’t accidentally missed anyone who wished to take part – so if there’s anyone out there who offered to perform and hasn’t heard back, please contact Kathy again as soon as possible!

Play-reading session
Our next play-reading will be on Tuesday 23rd June from 7.30pm ("for 8pm") – as always, everyone's welcome.  It will take place at the sports centre bar on Royston heath (the side-room, again), where we’ll read Willy Russell’s emotive Blood Brothers.

Set build for “Black Comedy”
Calling all helpful hands!  On Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th July, we will be building our set for Black Comedy. Can you spare some time to help?  We’ll be in the Meridian school (in the gym or the hall), 9am-8pm Saturday and 9am-4pm Sunday.  Whether you can throw yourself into the full days, or just come for an odd hour or two of creative fun, it would be helpful.

Dates for supporting our next show
Here are the key dates surrounding our “Black Comedy & Light Entertainment” show:
> 4th-6th September (weekend):  Perfect the set.
>  11th-13th September (weekend):  Rig the hall.
>  19th-20th September (weekend):  Tech & Dress Rehearsals.
>  24th-26th September (Thursday, Friday, Saturday):  Performances.

Costume manager required for Panto 2016
We’re looking for a volunteer who’s willing to try the role of costume manager for our Panto 2016.  The role is to create and organise a small team to source (and modify) appropriate costumes for the cast – from CADS’s collection and elsewhere as necessary, and as affordable by CADS.  To discuss further, please contact [email protected], or indeed any member of the committee.

CADS summer gathering on the Heath
Please pencil Saturday 29th August into your diaries (roughly midday onwards) for picnic & fun on the heath in Royston – as long as the weather’s looking suitably fine!  Everyone is welcome (whether CADS members or not).  Watch this space for further details.
