Play-reading evening, next week Our next play-reading event is imminent: Wednesday 26th August!  And in a rare scoop, this time we will have a world première of sorts...  Come along to the Heath Club, 7.30 for 8pm, to read a draft of CADS' pantomime for January 2016: Aladdin - written by our own Ian Sims.

Summer picnic on the heath: 29th August All being well with the weather, we'll be meeting on the heath, on the town side of the bar, from midday on Saturday 29th August. Everyone's welcome (whether CADS members or not): just bring a picnic, and any outdoor games you fancy. (If the weather is looking miserable, this may get postponed to the Monday with 48 hours' notice).

Black Comedy & Light Entertainment Tickets are now available: click here to buy online (without any booking fee!). CADS has also held the price for yet another year at £10 (£5 for full-time students). The cast is excited about the evening, having worked hard in recent months. The performances will be on Thursday 24, Friday 25 and Saturday 26th September, forming part of the Royston Arts Festival. See cadsroyston.org.uk for further details.

Costume manager required for Panto 2016 We’re still hoping a new volunteer will be willing to try the role of costume manager for our Panto 2016.  The role is to organise a small team to source (and modify) appropriate costumes for the cast – from CADS’s collection and elsewhere as necessary, and as affordable by CADS.  Don't be nervous!  To get a better idea of what's involved, please contact [email protected] or any member of the committee.

Set building & painting for “Black Comedy” On the weekend of 5th-6th September, we will be putting the finishing touches to our set for Black Comedy. If you can spare some time to help, we’ll be in the Meridian school (in the hall), 5pm-9pm Friday, 9am-8pm Saturday and 9am-4pm Sunday.

Dates:
  • Wednesday 26th August, from 7.30pm:  Play-reading session
  • Saturday 29th August, from midday:  Picnic on heath
  • 4th-6th September:  Set building/painting
  • 11th-13th September:  Rigging
