Programme competition

CALLING ALL YOUNG ARTISTS!

As part of our preparations for the 2026 Royston Town Pantomime, we're holding a special competition for young audience members to design the cover for the show’s programme. The competition is open to anyone between the ages of 7 and 11.

The panto in January is Dick Whittington, and so we'd like you to draw Dick travelling to London with his faithful cat to save the city from being over-run by King Rat and his ratty minions. The design should be A4 size and entries (hard copies only, please) should be submitted to the staff at Bow Books in Angel Pavement by Saturday 20 December. You’ll need to put your name and contact details on the back of the design, together with the name and contact details of your parent or guardian.

The winner will be announced towards the end of the year and, as well as having their design printed on the programme, will receive a family ticket (four people with a maximum of two adults) to the pantomime, which promises to be the traditional mix of singing, dancing, slapstick and awful jokes. And possibly a camel.

Chair Zoe Nesteriuc says, “This is a great opportunity for our younger audience members to get more involved in the show, as well as having the chance to win tickets for their family “

The panto itself is being performed at King James Academy (Senior Site) on Saturday 24 January 2026 at 2 p.m. and 7.30 p.m., Sunday 25 at 11.30 a.m., Friday 30 at 7.30 p.m. and Saturday 31 at 2 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. Full details, including information on how to book your tickets, can be found here.
